Spawning Period For Bass

"What is the best time to go after the Hogs"?

Well in the picture I have showed you an approximate schedule to catch those hogs in you area.

Do not bank on this as Mother Nature can throw you a curve. We can have a late winter or late spring. Back in I think it was 1968 in the middle of March; the West Tennessee area got 17 inches of snow.

When you find your area that you live in, then we have to look at a Full Moon.

I like to fish three days before the Full Moon and three days after.

You will also see everyone talks about Moon over Head and Moon Under Foot. What I am talking about here is the Lunar Periods, the length of Lunar period can range from one hour to three hours-and-one-half hours, depending on a number of important lunar cycles.

Such as how close to Moon is the earth that day and how its orbit is positioned. As you can see, it can get real sticky and Picky; stick to what I said earlier three days before the Full Moon and three days after.

You will also find in Night Fishing that a total dark night can produce some big Bass Hogs. Here again another good reason to subscribe Bass Masters because they put out a schedule a month in advance so you can make plans early to slip out of work and hit the lakes.

Your local newspaper when fishing season hits will sometimes run the lunar report in the sports section; if not contact them and ask if they will run it at the beginning of each month.

Have to tell you a story right here, that pertains to what we are talking about.

I have a few friends that I am trying to teach how to Bass Fish, well I called this one guy up that works all the time and told him that I could put him on some Hogs if he would like to go.

Seeing that he works during the days we had to make it a night trip and just my luck it was a Full Moon that night.

We loaded up everything and went to Mississippi Lake "Enid". We got there about 6pm and got the boat in the water and went to a spot that I knew very well. It has about four sunken brush piles in about 12 feet of water, and I know just where they are.
